Here’s wishing you the luck o’ the Irish! Vince Weber is our newest member. After a colorful sailing career, he is drydocked in Kansas! I know that you will enjoy getting better acquainted with Vince. Please help the road rise to meet our club by inviting a friend to join Rotary!

Vince grew up in California as a beach bum. I graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1983 and went directly into the Coast Guard. Barry Sotoro (aka Barack Obama) was in my class for the first year. During my 31-year career, I did drug-busting in the Caribbean, Search and Rescue and Ice Breaking in the Great Lakes, and Fisheries in the Bering Sea. After missing the birth of my second daughter due to being at sea, I decided to return to shore and earned my MBA from the College of William and Mary to focus on finances and personnel management. The Coast Guard brought him to Topeka Kansas, where he was Paymaster for the Coast Guard. (Note, there have been no acts of piracy on the Kansas or Arkansas River since I came here). After retiring in 2015, I went to school for cabinetry and millwork, was CFO of Bethany College and am now a full-time instructor at K-State Poly in Business. I am part of the team that helps local business owners prepare business plans for Project Open, which is sponsored by the Salina Chamber of Commerce.
My wife, Kelley, is a librarian. She brought us to Salina when she became director of the library at Kansas Wesleyan. We have three children in their 30’s, Morgan, Galyn and Xander, but no grandkids--yet. I enjoy woodworking, beer making, soap making and social card games.
