Member Spotlight: Mattie Loder

“I am pleased to feature one of our newest members in the Spotlight. Her family has a rich history of Rotary participation. Mattie is Norm Yenkey’s granddaughter and Katy England’s niece. I know that you will enjoy getting to know Mattie and welcoming her to Rotary.
Please invite your friends, colleagues and business leaders to one of our meetings to introduce them to the benefits of Rotary membership. I hope all of you have a July filled with fireworks and fun!

Mattie Loder:

I am originally from Marquette, KS with family throughout the Central Kansas area. I graduated from Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg in 2011 and then from Kansas State University in 2015, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Studies. While attending K-State, I was involved with several organizations, including serving as member and Treasurer for Silver Key Sophomore Honorary, Order of Omega Greek Honorary, BAPP Club, Chimes Junior Honorary, Mortar Board Senior Honor Society, among others. Upon graduation, I was also nominated as an Outstanding Graduating Senior at KSU. I am also an alumnae of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity and enjoyed serving two years on the Executive Committee, first as Chief Financial Officer and then as Chief Panhellenic Officer. In tandem with Theta’s philanthropy, Sunflower CASA, I had the opportunity to complete a nonprofit internship and strengthen the partnership between our local chapter and broaden community and KSU campus awareness to CASA’s mission, fundraising events, and advocate recruitment. I was honored to have a story describing my internship with Sunflower CASA featured in the International Theta Magazine. I was so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Manhattan and surrounding communities and have sought a way to serve the Salina community by becoming a member of Salina Rotary.

My family and I moved to Salina last summer and are glad to have a wonderful community to call home. I met my husband, Jesse King, while at K-State, and we have two beautiful girls, Rylan and Roxanne. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, reading, and being outdoors.

Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed participating in my community in meaningful ways. I align with Rotary’s mission and purpose and highly respect the great work Rotary does locally, nationally, and internationally. As a new member, I look forward to contributing to making the Salina community a better place. I currently work as a Finance and Accounting Specialist at The Bennington State Bank, where I perform accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and finance-related projects.

Thank you,

Mattie
