Member Spotlight: Dr. Ken Guest

A native of Coffeyville , Kansas, and the oldest of four brothers, Dr. Guest graduated from the University of Kansas in 1970 with a degree in Chemistry. He married Susan Leckband of Salina, then served four years as a U.S. Naval officer aboard two aircraft carriers. After service in the Navy, he attended the UMKC School of Dentistry, graduating in 1978.

In June 1978, Dr. Guest opened his dental practice in Salina. He is now retired but worked for many years with his daughter, Dr. Kathryn Gross and her husband, Dr. Guy Gross. He especially enjoyed orthodontics and treating sleep apnea.

Dr. Guest's community involvement has included the American Cancer Society, YMCA Board Chairman, American Business Club (AMBUCS), past President), St. John’s Lutheran Church (Council Member and Assistant Minister) and First Bank Kansas (past Board Member). He is a Lifetime Qualified Member of the Crown Council, a nationwide group of leading dental offices. He is also a charter member and past president of the Kansas Society of Orthodontics for General Practitioners, an orthodontic study club, which brings renowned clinicians to Kansas for courses of instruction.

As Ambucs fundraising chairman, he has headed the Dillons card campaign which has raised over $47,000 for Ambucs service projects. Last year, he put together a successful GoFundMe campaign to insure Salina’s July 4th Skyfire 2020 would continue despite the pandemic.

Dr. Guest enjoys his six grandchildren, exercising at the YMCA and playing pickleball. He has been active in buying and researching cryptocurrencies and digital assets for over four years. He and Susie like to travel and he enjoys working with audio and video equipment and computers. He is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn.
